Enrichment
• Our "Fine Dining" program consists of periodic lunches which
are served to the children as the highest form of "Dramatic
Play." Proper table settings, social graces, decorum and
exquisite manners (example: boys seating girls) exposes the
children to the forgotten "art" of etiquette, teaching respectful
behavior and self-control ultimately preparing them for future
social interactions.
• Chappell's "Teddy-Bear Tea" is a delightful program typified
by high tea served with all the child-sized accoutrements at the
child's level. Teddy bears, parents, and grandparents are all
cordially invited!
• Chappell's on-going artistic emphasis classifies our
classrooms and developmental areas by names of the world's most
famous artists. By the door of each classroom a short
biography of the featured artist and a framed print of one of
his/her most famous paintings are displayed. Hung at a
child's eye level, these visually stimulating and biographically
interesting pieces have certainly garnered interest from parents,
teachers and students alike. Our goal is to expose our students and
parents to the world of classical art as well as art appreciation,
making all age levels comfortable with fine art in all its forms as
a natural part of their environment.
